Baluchistan Earthquake

Relief and Rehabilitation Activities


An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale hit district Awaran tehsil Mashkai on September 24, 2013. The Eisaar Trust immediately started relief and rehabilitation work in Mashkai with initial assistance including the mobilization of funds for the purchase of coffins, shoes and food.
Our resource person in Mustung is still actively involved in the implementation of these activities. To date food ration and food have been provided to 115 families.

Current Assistance - TET is presently engaged in collecting funds for the;

  • Construction of roofs for the destroyed homes.
  • Provision of quilts, winter clothing and shoes for the affected families.

Future Endeavour

In the area of district Awaran, 20 wells have been partially destroyed thereby affecting the provision of water for agriculture and consumption. These wells which are interconnected form a system that is called ‘Karaiz.’ The Eisaar Trust has decided to restore these wells on a priority basis; the approximate cost of this project is Rs 1,000,000/-. Funds are being collected for this development plan.
